A 12-YEAR-OLD girl is in a stable condition after being airlifted to hospital with potentially life-changing injuries after she was hit by a car. The incident happened in Blagreaves Lane, Littleover, at about 3.15pm yesterday. Police blocked the road after the female pedestrian was in collision with a car which was travelling towards Stenson Road. A police spokesman confirmed her condition as stable this morning. People living nearby were left in shock at the incident yesterday. Marion Keeling, of Heather Crescent, Littleover, said: "I did not see what happened but went over to see what I could do. "I have done basic first-aid so I offered to help. "Someone had called an ambulance which came here really quickly. "I tried to talk to the girl but she was unconscious. "I hope and pray she will be alright." Kevin Glynn, of Gayton Avenue, Littleover, noticed the air ambulance arrive. The 47-year-old said: "I noticed them flying over a field so I went to the scene to see what had happened. "The road was shut and people were out of their houses. "What has happened is very worrying and concerning." Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact Derbyshire Police on 101.
