Teenage motorcyclist breaks leg, arms and pelvis in collision in Long Eaton

A 16-YEAR-OLD motorcyclist suffered a broken leg, arm and pelvis after coming off his bike and colliding with a bollard. No other vehicles were involved in the accident which happened at 11.20am yesterday in Derby Road, Long Eaton. Police say the teenage rider is believed to have lost control of the Yamaha he was on and he collided with the bollard which was on the central reservation. He was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre, in Nottingham, where he remains this morning. A force spokesman said: "The road had to be closed until 1.15pm while collision investigators examined the scene. "The 16-year-old rider, who is local, suffered a broken leg, arm and a fractured pelvis in the collision."
