Two birds of prey have been stolen from a locked aviary at a house in Spondon.
A European eagle owl and a kestrel were taken between 7.30pm on Saturday and 9.45am the next morning after thieves forced padlocks.
Both birds had been rescued by the owner and the kestrel is unable to fly because of a damaged wing.
Witnesses or anyone with information on the offence
