FORMER Newcastle United goalkeeper Jonathan Mitchell has agreed a one-year deal with Derby County.
Mitchell's contract with Newcastle expires at the end of this month and the 19-year-old stopper will join the Rams on a free transfer.
The teenager passed a medical at Derby's training ground on Wednesday and will join up with his new team-mates when they report back for pre-season training later this month.
Hartlepool-born Mitchell did not feature for Newcastle's first-team but has gained senior experience on loan at Conference North side Workington.
