A STRETCH of the M1 in Derbyshire was closed after a six-vehicle collision.
Four cars, a lorry and a caravan were involved in the smash on the northbound carriageway, between junction 28, at Alfreton, and 29, at Chesterfield, on Sunday at about 6.55pm.
A spokeswoman for Derbyshire police said it was thought one of the vehicles had initially broken down.
She said the carriageway was blocked for about an hour and no-one was injured.
