POLICE chased a man through Derby city centre this evening with the help of a force helicopter.
A suspect ran from police at around 7.20pm.
A control room officer said: "We received a report of a possible assault.
"A description was given and officers carried out a search.
"They came across a male matching the description and he ran away.
"The officers later managed to detain the man with the help of the police helicopter."
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of assault.
Mum-of-one Kate Lowe said she saw three police vans speed down Watson Street around the time of the search.
