POLICE have cordoned off a number of businesses in Osmaston Road as part of an ongoing police investigation.
Officers in Derby executed eight search warrants last night in connection with an investigation into the supply of drugs.
At 5.30pm yesterday two warrants were carried out at premises on Osmaston Road.
A quantity of suspected drugs was found and growing cannabis was also discovered. Two men and a woman were arrested during the warrants and they remain in custody.
Shortly after 10am today there were three police vans and four police cars at the scene opposite the Co-op, near Spider Island, in Allenton. A number of dog handlers were also searching the area.
At 11.15am one police van and a car were at the scene and the small business park area, which includes a car wash and tyre firm, remained sealed off.
People living nearby said there was police activity around the area last night.
Amy Welton, 24, of Osmaston Road, said: "I have young children so am shocked to find police outside my door."
