ALFRETON Town are in line for a four-figure cash windfall after former Reds defender Kyle McFadzean joined MK Dons from fellow League One side Crawley Town.
The Derbyshire club will receive 20% of any profit made on the sale by Crawley, as part of the deal that saw him leave the Impact Arena in 2010.
McFadzean cost the Red Devils, managed by ex-Derby County boss John Gregory, around £80,000 and though the fee paid by MK Dons is undisclosed, it is reported to be around £250,000.
Based on those figures, Alfreton would stand to make £34,000 from the transfer.
It could have been more, as McFadzean looked set for a £500,000 move to Bristol City at the beginning of last year but the deal fell through.
Alfreton chairman Wayne Bradley said: "It's all a bonus for us.
"We don't plan for it but of course we welcome the financial boost."
McFadzean, 27, added: "I can't wait to get started.
"I've known the interest for a couple of weeks and I'm delighted to finally get it sorted.
"I wanted a new challenge and if you look around the place, it's a big challenge but one I'm looking forward to."
