THE new £800,000 clinical support centre has opened at Treetops Hospice
Its Cheetham Centre will house the Risley-based charity's bereavement service, which has outgrown its premises in Sandiacre.
There are five confidential adult counselling rooms, two rooms for children's counselling sessions and a dedicated room for teenagers.
Treetops founder Cally Cheetham said: "It's lovely to have the building named after me but it's also very emotional.
"It wasn't just me who made Treetops Hospice possible – there were so many people involved at the start. I just wish it could be named after everyone who helped."
Brian Nicholson, of Ilkeston, used the bereavement service following the death of his wife, Christine, in October 2010. He said he was pleased to see the centre open. He said: "Treetops was there during Christine's illness and was still there after she died."
