FIREFIGHTERS were called to a blaze caused by an unattended frying pan.
Crews attended the scene, in Bargate Road, Belper, after receiving a call at 1.20pm on Sunday.
Once they were in the property they discovered the blaze in the kitchen.
They put out the flames and ventilated the property.
A spokesman for the fire and rescue service said: "We handed out safety advice to the householder, who was not hurt in the incident, and would like to remind people of the dangers of leaving unattended cooking on gas or electric hobs."
