STRIKE action tomorrow will affect libraries and bin collections, Derby City Council has said. Allestree Library, Alvaston Library, Mickleover Library and Sinfin Library will all be closed. Chellaston Library will close early at 5pm. Pear Tree Library will be open as usual from 1.30pm to 7pm, but there will be 30 minute closure from 4.30pm to 5pm. Allenton Library is normally closed on Thursdays and all other libraries will be open as usual. The council has said that there is likely to be a "limited" bin service collection. A statement said: "If you leave your bin out for collection we will empty as many as we can. "If your bin isn't collected, take it back inside and leave it out again on the next scheduled day. "Unfortunately we won't be able to return any sooner, or accept any extra waste for your next collection. "You can also take your household waste and recyclables to the Household Recycling Centre at Raynesway from 8am to 6pm every day." Meanwhile, Erewash Borough Council has said bins that are not collected due to the strike action will be emptied the following day and householders are asked to leave out any uncollected bins.
