HOCKEY: Derbyshire hockey forward Ellie Watton scored as England's women celebrated their best result against Wales since 1954 on the opening day of the Investec London Cup.
Watton, a former Matlock HC player, now with Beeston, scored England's fifth in their 8-0 defeat of the Welsh in the round-robin tournament held at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
England's women, who also include Belper's Hollie Webb in their side, will also play South Africa and Scotland before the classification matches take place on Sunday.
