DERBY County midfielder George Thorne has undergone "successful" surgery on his knee injury.
Thorne suffered cruciate knee ligament damage during the Rams' pre-season friendly against Zenit St Petersburg in Austria on Tuesday night.
The 21-year-old flew back to the UK and had an operation in London on Thursday.
"George Thorne went under the knife late on Thursday afternoon and the procedure itself to repair the ACL (anterior cruciate liagment) took place without any complications," said the Rams.
"He will begin his rehabilitation programme in earnest at the start of next week with Derby's medical team at the training centre."
