ERIC Steele described last night's victory over Slavija Sarajevo and goalkeeper Lee Grant's comeback from injury as a great end to Derby County's tour of Austria.

Grant played his first game of pre-season having recovered from knee surgery and completed the 90 minutes as the Rams beat their opponents from Bosnia & Herzegovina 1-0 thanks to Craig Bryson's goal.

"We had intended to give Lee 45 minutes but once we saw the playing surface and the fact we had a bit of rain, there was no risk," said Steele, the club's goalkeeping coach.

"Lee has worked really, really hard and it is a big bonus for him to get those 90 minutes and end the tour on a high for him.

"The whole medical team need applauding as well as the sports science guys and it was great to see Lee back.

"We will look to get him a full week's training next week and two games against Burton Albion and Rangers, and that will set him up for the season."

Last night's game was played at the home of UFC Jennersdorf and followed Tuesday night's defeat at the hands of Zenit St Petersburg.

The Rams fly back from Austria today.
