Opinion: 'No excuse for patronising, arrogant or aggressive letters'

THE Derby Telegraph receives lots of letters each week on issues affecting Derby and Derbyshire, as well as further afield. This one looks at the letters themselves.

I AM in agreement with Jon Turner, "Never mind the personal attacks, what about the issues?" (July 18), in his criticism of Colin Clark and David Culm.

I have thought many times that Colin Clark's attitude crosses the line of politeness and respect, which should be afforded to other correspondents.

His regular contributions always impress me as aggressive, arrogant and opinionated. Mr Culm also writes in a patronising way.

The pair cannot be excused for bad manners and, if they are attempting to show a reasoned and acceptable face of the "right", they are failing badly.
