Dog walker butted following argument in Swadlincote

A DOG walker was butted and punched by a man following an argument about controlling their pets.

Police say the victim was attacked in a field off Swadlincote Lane, Castle Gresley, at 8.40am on Saturday.

He was walking his three dogs in the field when he saw another man with a chocolate Labrador.

A police spokesman said: "He waited at the end of the field for them to pass but the Labrador ran towards him.

"The owner also ran towards them and a disagreement took place over the control of his dog.

"He became aggressive and confrontational and pushes the victim, head butting and punching him."

The suspect was white, aged between 40 and 45 years old, of stocky build and 6ft tall.

He has short, dark hair, stubble and was wearing a light blue waterproof coat and fawn coloured shorts.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may know who the suspect is.

Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact Derby South officers on 101 quoting crime reference 32098/14.
