A "SUBSTANTIAL" number of calls have been made to police after they made an appeal to find the identity of a cyclist killed in a Derbyshire road smash.
Officers said the calls came through after an E-fit image of the man - who suffered fatal injuries in a collision on a dual carriageway near Dronfield on Thursday, July 31 - was released.
The man was riding a black and yellow Carrera TDF bicycle, red cycling shoes, a cream helmet and a t shirt that had Barnsley Metrodome Triathlon written on it.
On the helmet there was a sticker with an event number from the Friar Tuck Triathlon which appears to be the number 100.
A Derbyshire police spokesman said: "The response to our appeal was excellent and the information we received has been of great assistance to the officers in this case.
"We would like to thank those who came forward or shared the appeal online."
