THE Derby Telegraph receives lots of letters each week on issues affecting Derby and Derbyshire, as well as further afield. This one looks at the sale of the Harrington Arms.
IN response to the article "Deal brewing for former city pub closed down after raid by police", (July 23):
The sale of the Harrington Arms, Alvaston, is fantastic news for the whole ward. However, I am perplexed at the suggestion that Derby City Council purchases the building, especially when the asking price is £400,000.
If Councillor Bayliss believes that spending £400,000 on a pub is good value for the taxpayers of Derby, I am astounded.
