MEMBERS of a gang who are reported to have admitted killing Derbyshire medical student Neil Dalton were high on the drug crystal meth, according to a police report.
Neil and his friend, Aidan Brunger, both 22-year-old Newcastle University students, were stabbed to death outside a bar in the Kuching area of Borneo at around 4am on Tuesday.
Neil, of Ambergate, was a former pupil at Belper School and played for Belper Amateurs Cricket Club.
The pair were on a six-week hospital placement with five other students when it is thought they were attacked by a group of men.
In the latest police report, it also includes information about one of the suspects having a previous conviction for drug dealing and another was a convicted gang robber.
It said three of the four men arrested in connection with the case all tested positive for methamphetamine, otherwise known as crystal meth.
Previous reports from Malaysia had said that the police have finished their investigation after four men admitted to the crime. They face the death penalty if formally convicted in court.
