A MOTORCYCLIST has been air-lifted to hospital in critical condition after coming off his bike.
Police say the ambulance service is yet to confirm to them whether or not the rider's injuries are "life threatening" following the accident on the A6 Derby Road, at Duffield.
The road has been blocked in both directions since emergency services were called to the incident at 2.45pm on Saturday.
A police spokesman said: "A motorcyclist has come off his bike and has been taken to hospital in a critical condition.
"We are waiting to hear from the hospital if his injuries are life threatening.
"The road has been blocked in both directions since the accident, the cause of which is under investigation."
