Derbyshire have confirmed that their Royal London One-Day Cup game against Essex at the 3aaa County Ground has been abandoned.
Umpires Nigel Cowley and Peter Willey arrived at the quick decision that no play would be possible due to the continuing rain.
Supporters who bought a match-day ticket for the game can use it to gain entry to any remaining match during the 2014 season, or they can claim a refund by applying in writing and sending the ticket back.
The Falcons are back in home action in the Royal London One-Day Cup on Thursday August 21 against Gloucestershire for the final group fixture of the tournament.
