FIFTY five jobs could be created if plans for a new Marks and Spencers shop in Derby are given the go ahead.
A planning application has been submitted to Derby City Council for up to three new retail units on the site of the Derby Fireplace Company on Wyvern Way.
One of the businesses planned for the area is an M&S Simply Food store. The new shop would provide about 55 new jobs, with a mixture of full and part time positions.
The other shops on the development, the plans for which have been submitted by London Metric Derby Limited and Clowes Developments (UK) Limited, have not been revealed yet.
There are no plans to change either of the two existing Marks and Spencers stores in the city.
