AN inquest has been opened into the death of a Belper woman who was found dead at the home.
Derby and South Derbyshire Coroners' Court heard how police received a 999 call to attend Sandra Bainbridge's home in Short Row, off Green Lane, at 11.12pm last Tuesday.
Detective Constable Richard Watson, of the East Midlands Major Crime Unit, told the hearing that Mrs Bainbridge's body was found in the back garden 45 minutes later.
He said the 70-year-old was a retired civil servant who was previously known by her married name of Sanderson.
DC Watson said Mrs Bainbridge's son-in-law Wayne Nixon formally identified her body at the Royal Derby Hospital at 12.30pm on Thursday.
37-year-old Andrea Cutler, from Derby, has been charged with Ms Bainbridge's murder.
