SHEFFIELD Wednesday have been dealt an injury blow ahead of their Championship clash with Derby County.
Slovenian defender Dejan Kelhar could miss the entire season after suffering cruciate knee ligament damage.
The centre-half joined the Owls on a short-term deal earlier this month.
"It's a major blow for the lad and I'm so sad for him because he really impressed me during his trial over the summer," said wednesday head coach Stuart Gray.
"He's seen the surgeon and he will have to go under the knife, so it's doubtful he will kick a ball this season.
"Dejan is devastated and the players are too because we are a tight-knit group.
"We all wish him all the best for a full and speedy recovery."
Derby face the Owls at Hillsborough on Saturday (3pm).
