LEE Grant says Derby County's winning start to the new season has dispelled concerns over a possible Wembley hangover.
Promotion was snatched from the Rams' grasp last season when they lost to Queens Park Rangers in the Championship play-off final.
How would they respond?
They have started this season with two wins and two clean sheets.
Victory against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough today would see Derby win their first three games of a season for the first time since 1948.
Grantbelieves the positive start has shown that the players are ready to challenge again.
"We have been very focused from the first day of pre-season and it is nice to be able to show everybody that we are ready to go and we are looking forward to another exciting campaign," said the Rams goalkeeper.
"It is all about momentum, so the good start is important."
Derby opened their League campaign by beating Rotherham United before they knocked Carlisle United out of the Capital One Cup.
Both games had the potential to catch them out, says Grant.
"On paper, most people probably expected us to beat Rotherham at home but anyone who was at the game will have seen just how organised Rotherham were, how hard they worked and also the fact they have some very good players," he said.
"To come away from that with a clean sheet and three points was excellent.
"Then we had a cup tie live on TV against a club a couple of divisions below us.
"Such ties can be tricky, as we saw with other results in the Capital One Cup, but we controlled the game and progressed to the next round. Job done."
Grant today faces Sheffield Wednesday, the club where he spent three years between 2007 and 2010.
He helped Derby complete the double over the Owls last season but knows he and his team-mates face a tough test this afternoon.
"They are always good occasions when we play Sheffield Wednesday," he said.
"They bring a good following down here and we always take a good following to Hillsborough, which is one of those grounds where the atmosphere is always good.
"It will be a difficult game and we will need to be ready and up for the challenge because Wednesday have started the season well.
"Their manager, Stuart Gray, has had more time with his squad and it seems from the outside looking in that the players are buying in to what he is trying to do.
"He is a good coach. Given time, he is going to produce results."
