FORMER Derby County player Rory Delap has retired from football at the age of 37.
Delap has been at Burton Albion since the summer but has struggled to overcome a torn hamstring, which has restricted him to seven first-team appearances.
"Rory has been a consummate professional since he joined the club in the summer," said Brewers boss Gary Rowett.
"His attitude and work ethic have been a credit to himself and the invaluable knowledge and experience that he's passed onto the rest of the players here at Burton Albion has been priceless.
"He's had a fantastic career and we're honoured here at Burton that he's finished his career with us."
