A CANAL boat has been craned into Derby's Market Place today.
The stunt has been organised by staff at Mercia Marina, who have shipped the 60ft wide-beam narrowboat into the middle of the city to raise awareness of the site, near Willington.
They also want people to learn more about the marina's Boardwalk development - which will have its grand opening on the weekend of October 11 and 12 and consist of six retail units, a pub-restaurant and four first-floor offices.
The boat arrived on the back of a lorry this morning and will be open to the public until 6pm today and all day tomorrow.
Staff are also handing out balloons and leaflets.
