IT IS a massive weekend for Sandiacre Town Cricket Club.
Apart from Sunday's ECB Royal London National Knockout Cup final against Sunbury at Bristol, they have the small matter of a Derbyshire Premier Cup final against Ticknall tomorrow at Alvaston & Boulton CC (11am).
Captain Dan Wheeldon says they will not be holding back in the first match, especially after missing out on the Derbyshire League title to big rivals Ockbrook & Borrowash.
"Everyone at the club is excited for what will be a massive weekend in our history – the place is absolutely buzzing," he said.
"We certainly aren't ignoring Saturday – we would love to get some silverware under our belt for the season before Sunday."
Wheeldon acknowledges that winning the national title will be a big task against Surrey side Sunbury.
"The opposition looks strong, with around 250 First Class games between them," he added.
"It's going to be a tough ask but we have a team spirit that counts for a lot and we know, on our day, we can beat anyone."
