ALEX Salmond has said he will stand down after Scotland said "No" to independence.
The First Minister of Scotland made the announcement following the results of the referendum this morning.
A majority 55% voted against Scotland becoming its own country and Salmond will now step down as ministers are left to work out what this result will mean for Scotland and the rest of the United Kingdom.
