A FATHER whose son's murderers were never caught has updated his book on his search for justice.
Tony Corley, of Alvaston, has released the second edition of More Questions Than Answers? – which explores the events surrounding the death of his son, Mark, and the incidents that followed.
And he has also started a helpline called Understand for parents who have lost children of any age through murder or manslaughter.
Mark Corley went missing in 2000 after leaving his home in Grantham, Lincolnshire.
The 23-year-old remained missing for six months before his body was found in farmland in Bolam, Durham, on December 13, the same year. He had been shot in the head.
Five people were arrested and detained for the murder, but the police released them without conviction in 2002.
Now, 12 years on, Mr Corley is still fighting to uncover the truth behind his son's death.
The 62-year-old said: "It has destroyed my life but I am not going to give up. You never get over it, you just put a brave face on."
He has been living in Alvaston for the last couple of years, trying to pick up the pieces of his life.
Mark was born in Leicestershire and moved to Lincolnshire with his mum.
Mr Corley has been told many theories about the motives behind Mark's death but has yet to be convinced by any of them.
He said: "I was told that Mark was admiring someone's nice car and the guy got out and was paranoid that he was going to do something to it.
"There was words exchanged and apparently they had a scuffle and Mark threw something but I don't know for sure."
Other theories include drug usage and Mark owing someone money but no decision was ever made on the matter.
Mr Corley added: "It hurts when people jump to conclusions and he is not even here to defend himself."
He said of his helpline: "They will be speaking to someone they can relate to and someone who will understand."
