THE threat of Hurricane Gonzalo to Derbyshire has been downgraded.Weather experts had said the tail end of the storm would be gusts of around 70mph tomorrow.
But now the Met Office says the winds will reach 55mph.
Its forecasters have issued a "low level" wind warning for the day and have said drivers should be particularly wary of the storm.
Hurricane Gonzalo crashed into the Atlantic island of Bermuda, damaging buildings and downing powerlines, and is now off the coast of Nova Scotia.
It has since been downgraded in strength, but what remains of the storm is headed towards the UK and is expected to reach Derbyshire late tonight.
