MATLOCK joined Derbyshire rivals Ashbourne in the third round of the Midlands Intermediate Cup with victory over Old Veseyans.
The Midlands Two East (North) leaders triumphed 36-23 in Walsall to extend their winning start to the campaign.
Matlock trailed 20-12 at the interval but overturned the deficit in the second period.
Simon Wright claimed a hat-trick of tries, with Lewis Richardson, Matt Goodall and Andy Carr also touching down.
Matlock's man of the match was Charlie Jackson, while 18-year-old Tristan Kawalek impressed on his first-team debut.
