Weather: Drivers warned of icy patches in Derbyshire on Monday morning

DRIVER have been warned of icy patches on Derbyshire's roads on Monday, as temperatures plunge again. Last night saw lows of -5C in Derby, matching the previous coldest of the winter on Wednesday. It won't be as cold as that on Monday morning but a Met Office spokesman said the temperature would be near freezing again. He said: "People should be aware that the main risk of icy patches will be early Monday morning." He said a thin dusting of snow may fall in the Peak District tomorrow, while lower ground will see showers. Sleet could fall in Derby tomorrow evening with temperatures at about 1C.
