THREE Derby projects have been awarded thousands of pounds in grants from the Big Lottery Fund.
Grampian Primary Academy has been awarded £9,954.
The school, in Sinfin, will use the funding to construct an outdoor classroom area with a pathway. This will enable the school to provide education in an outdoor setting regardless of the weather conditions.
The Green Thyme in Derby has been awarded £9,975 to deliver a range of programmes and activities aiming to teach the basics of cultivation and horticulture and also promote environmental education.
And Derbyshire Advocacy Service, in London Road, has been awarded £10,000 to create a platform through self-advocacy for young people with autism and special educational needs to raise topics that affects them and express their opinions.
This will enable beneficiaries to overcome communication barriers, develop life skills and promote peer advocacy.
The money comes from as part of the Big Lottery Fund Awards for All Grants in the East Midlands.
