Late sickener as Alfreton Town held to draw by Welling United plus non league round-up

THERE was late controversy at the Impact Arena as Alfreton Town FC were denied what looked to be the match-winner against Welling United. The 2-2 draw for Nicky Law#s side means they sit sixth in the Skrill Conference Premier Division and out of the play-off places. Welling took a first-half lead but Nick Fenton equalised for the Reds before half-time. Welling went back in front before Bradley Woods' 72nd minute leveller. In the Evo-Stik Premier Division, Ilkeston beat Ashton United 3-1 while Matlock Town were beaten 1-0 by Witton Albion at the Autoworld Arena. Mickleover Sports were beaten 4-2 by Evo-Stik Division One South leaders Halesowen. Captain Liam Walshe and Simeon Oshoboke got Sports' goals.Belper Town FC thrashed Lincoln United 5-0. Jon Froggatt scored two penalties for the Nailers. Heanor Town celebrated another big win in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division, beating Liversedge 5-0. Long Eaton United won 4-1 at Winterton Rangers. In the East Midlands Counties League, Borrowash Victoria's title aspirations are still very much alive after a 3-0 win over Bardon Hill. Graham St Prims were beaten 5-1 by Ellistown & Ibstock.
