Organisers of the Derby 10K said 5,000 people took part in the race which was won by Richard Weir for the second year running.
The Derby Athletics Club member sealed the win alongside others in the race who have taken part in fancy dress.
Many have dressed in fancy dress for the event and although there has been some light rain the city has come alive with excitement for the annual race.
Derbyshire's European champion Phil Hogg has won this years Derby 10K wheelchair race.
He beat the 11 times Paralympic gold medalist Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson competing in the event today.
