POLICE are warning people to be vigilant when answering their doors in one Derbyshire town following reports of a woman acting suspiciously
Officers from the county's police force said, over the past couple of weeks, they had received a number of reports of a woman going door-to-door in Buxton asking to borrow money.
They said they want to urge residents not to feel pressured into handing over cash.
PCSO Sally Bowden, from the Buxton safer neighbourhood team, said: "We are encouraging residents to continue to be cautious and to report any suspicious activity to us.
"If you feel uncomfortable in a situation, do not feel pressured to answer the door or hand over cash and call police on 101 to report the incident."* Read more of today's top news stories here.
