A PEDESTRIAN who suffered a "serious head injury" after being hit by a car in Derby has died.
The 49-year-old woman was crossing St James Road when she was hit by a green Toyota Yaris.
A Derbyshire Police spokeswoman said the vehicle was travelling along Upperdale Road and turned right in to the junction with St James Road.
She said the driver "failed to see the pedestrian".
The pedestrian suffered a serious head injury and was taken to hospital.
The incident happened at 5.15am on April 4. Police say the pedestrian was pronounced dead yesterday.
Police are appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to call 101.
