DERBY County are level at 1-1 with 10-man Huddersfield Town after the first half of Saturday's Championship clash at the iPro Stadium.
The Rams fell behind to Nahki Wells' 14th-minute strike but Johnny Russell equalised after 28 minutes with his eighth goal of the season.
Huddersfield then had defender Joel Lynch sent off for a second bookable offence just before the break.
Derby started brightly and could have gone ahead in the third minute.
Craig Bryson's free kick was only cleared as far as Russell, whose well-struck volley was blocked by keeper Alex Smithies before Richard Keogh spooned the rebound over the bar from close range.
Huddersfield felt they should have had a penalty in the 10th minute when Danny Ward and last man Jake Buxton tangled in the box but referee Darren Deadman waved play on.
The visitors opened the scoring not long afterwards, Wells converting Ward's low cross from the right from inside the six-yard box.
The Terriers were almost gifted a second goal after 21 minutes.
Keogh's mis-hit backpass put Wells clean through but the Bermudian striker was denied by a brilliant one-handed save from the onrushing Lee Grant.
At the other end, Patrick Bamford headed Russell's corner over the bar from eight yards.
Derby were level, though, shortly before the half-hour mark.
George Thorne split the Huddersfield defence with a perfectly timed through ball for Russell, who nipped in and beat Smithies with a deft first-time flick from 12 yards.
Derby were unhappy with what they saw as time-wasting from Mark Robins' side and Lynch was booked for taking too long over as throw-in after 31 minutes.
Grant was called into action again after 38 minutes, beating away Ward's drive before Wells fired the rebound across the face of goal from a tight angle.
Huddersfield were reduced to 10 men in the 43rd minute, when Lynch went in late on Bamford and was shown a second yellow card.
The Rams had a great chance to take the lead in the 45th minute.
Thorne picked out Bamford unmarked in the box and the Chelsea loanee brought the ball down well, only to blaze a shot over from 12 yards out.
