FIREFIGHTERS were called to free two people trapped in a car following a three-car collision in Derby on Monday evening.
The incident at the junction of Mount Street and Mill Hill Lane led to road closures and initial tailbacks in the Normanton and city centre areas.
It happened just before 5pm and a Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said three fire engines had attended to "add manpower" to the situation.
The two people, who were extricated from two of the cars using hydraulic cutting equipment, were taken to hospital but the extent of their injuries was not known.
