A PENSIONER was killed after being struck by a train in Derbyshire. Police said they were called to the incident at Shirebrook rail station yesterday, shortly after 11pm.
A spokeswoman for the British Transport Police said: "We were called following reports of a person being struck by a train.
"Our officers attended, alongside colleagues from Derbyshire police and East Midlands Ambulance Service, and discovered a 72-year-old man from the Mansfield area had been struck and killed by a train.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and we will now assist in the compilation of a report for the coroner."
