Toilets are a necessity, whatever they look like

I WAS reading "Loos are a local landmark and deserve to be saved, says David" (April 17), but it doesn't really matter whether they are lovely or ugly; they are a necessity. The powers in charge of this ridiculous idea that we can do without toilets are stupid. As the population grows we will need more, not less, loos.

When I was young, these toilets on the Spot were clean and well kept.

Not all shops and cafes have these facilities and visitors to Derby are entitled to expect to be catered for.

Let's have someone with common sense on the council, not someone who doesn't ever need to go.
