THE Westfield shopping centre has officially had its name changed to Intu Derby.
The £390 million deal to sell the shopping centre was completed in March after months of negotiations.
On Tuesday, work began to take down Westfield signage from the outside of the building.
It had been put on the market in November as the Australian-owned Westfield wished to raise funds to develop centres in other areas both in the UK and abroad.
The shopping centre, home to about 200 retailers, has been known as Westfield Derby since October 2007 when it reopened following a £340 million extension.
The massive project doubled the size of the site that had been known as the Eagle Centre since the 1970s.
