THE 25-year-old driver of a Vauxhall Astra suffered head injuries after his car overturned on Derby Road in Stanley.
The incident happened just after 8pm on Thursday evening near to the White Hart public house and caused traffic tailbacks until the wreckage was cleared by 10pm.
A passenger in the car was uninjured and the driver was treated by medical staff at the scene and did not require hospital treatment.
A Derbyshire police spokesman said: "There were quite severe traffic problems while the incident was dealt with."
