IN a dramatic final day in the SkyBet Championship it was relief for Birmingham City and disappointment for Doncaster Rovers as the Blues managed to avoid relegation to League One.
A last minute equaliser for Birmingham at Bolton Wanderers, scored by Paul Caddis, meant that they preserved their Championship status for another season as that game ended in a 2-2 draw.
Doncaster, managed by former Derby County player Paul Dickov, were beaten 1-0 by champions Leicester City. David Nugent got the Foxes' only goal from the penalty spot.
There was disappointment for Wigan Athletic and Reading as they were beaten to the final play-off place by Brighton & Hove Albion, who play the Rams on Thursday.
Wigan lost 4-3 at Blackpool while Reading drew 2-2 with Burnley.
