A SERIES of closures along the A50 has been announced by the Highways Agency, adding to Derbyshire's jungle of roadworks.
For two months, the A50 will be closed overnight in both directions between Toyota Roundabout and the A516 at Hilton.
The closures will be between 8pm and 5am, with work starting on June 2 and lasting for around eight weeks.
In addition, the slip road that leads from the A50 westbound to Toyota Roundabout - which takes traffic to the A38 and Willington - will be closed every night for three weeks, also from June 2 and between 8pm and 5am.
Over the same three-week period, the same westbound carriageway will be closed between Sawley Interchange and the A6 turn-off. Again, this closure will be between 8pm and 5am each night.
Elsewhere, the link roads that connect the A50 to the A6, in both directions, will be closed over two consecutive Friday nights for maintenance works. They will be closed at 8pm on May 16 and May 23 and reopen at 5am the following morning.
A Highways Agency spokesman said the closures were to "enable resurfacing and general maintenance" and that diversion routes will be "well signed".
