Seven coaches filled with Rams fans set off from iPro stadium bound for Brighton this afternoon.
It is estimated that 3,000 Derby County supporters will be at tonight's all-important game.
Among the fans was Allen Powell from Chellaston. The season ticket holder was looking forward to the match but didn't want to predict the score line.
He said: "I have been a Rams fan for more than 40 years and I know you can't predict football.
"If we do go up though, I think we will do well. Our midfield is the envy of the rest of the division."
Friends Steve Rose and Shaun Hubbard were also on the coaches travelling down to the south coast.
Shaun said: "I am hoping to win by a goal and then come back and beat them here on Sunday."
Steve said: "If we get through to the final I think we will have Wigan.
"They're a good cup side."
Darren Clarke, Ashley Goodwin and Terry Fleming were also awaiting tonight's game.
Darren said: "I will be happy with a 1-0 win as I know we will beat then back up here.
"I think we will get QPR in the final and we will beat them 2-1. I don't know why but I have that on my head."
