POLICE are looking for witnesses to an attack on a 21-year-old man in Allenton.
The man was walking towards the canal path at its junction on Uppermoor Road at 10.10pm on Monday, April 28, when he was approached from behind.
He was hit in the face, with what he believes was a pole or bat, and fell to the ground. He claims he saw the legs and feet of about five people before he fell unconscious but is unable to describe anyone.
After he regained consciousness he went home. Nothing was stolen from him.
The next day, he went to hospital and was found to have two fractures to his jaw, a suspected fracture to his eye socket and other head injuries.
