DETECTIVES investigating the death of Daniel Baker have received new information as to where the suspected murder weapon may be and are appealing to the public for help.
Daniel Baker, of Allenton, was discovered collapsed in a street in South Normanton on Friday, July 19.
The 32-year-old, of Allenton, was taken to hospital but pronounced dead on arrival.
Officers recently received information that the knife with which Mr Baker was killed was in a clearing within woodland, off Lea Vale, South Normanton, just beyond a wooden bridge that crosses a brook.
Police say they have conducted thorough searches of the area but the knife has not been found. Officers are asking anyone who may have found the knife since Mr Baker was killed to come forward.
A map has been produced showing the area where police believe the knife to be, marked with an 'x'.
Leon Lockhart, 31, and Michaela Griffiths, 24, from South Normanton, have been charged with murdering Mr Baker. Miss Griffiths has also been charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice.
