An 80-year-old woman was robbed as she rode her mobility scooter in Chaddesden.
She was heading along Max Road in the direction of Sussex Circus yesterday at 2.30pm when she was approached by a man.
She crossed the road and went on to Peterborough Street. The man then approached her again and grabbed her handbag before running off towards Max Road.
The handbag, which was black leather, contained a miniature of the Virgin Mary and an embroidered flowered handkerchief, both of which were of sentimental value to the woman.
The man was described as approximately 25 years old, between 5ft 8ins and 5ft 10ins tall and of medium build.
He had short hair and was clean shaven apart from stubble above his top lip. He was wearing dark-coloured trousers and top and was carrying some papers in his hand.
Call 101 if you can help.
